Free Defibrillators for Schools

By the end of the 2022/2023 academic year, all schools will be issued a free defibrillator (from the government) if one isn’t yet owned. This initially comes from the push of first aid and CPR being a part of the school curriculum. Research, published in Resuscitation Journal, shows an increase in survival rate by over 40% if it’s accessible within 3-5 minutes within schools.

Boosting defibrillator numbers in communities

Is it currently estimated that 20,000 state-funded schools are to receive a defibrillator free of charge. This surge in defibrillator distribution comes from discussions between the government and Mark King, Found of the Oliver King Foundation. This foundation has been pressing for more defibrillators to be accessible in communities especially since the passing of Oliver King in 2022.

Ventricular fibrillation (VF) is an abnormal heart rhythm where blood isn’t pumped around the body. VF is present in almost 90% of adult cardiac arrests, and the only way to stop VF is with shocks to the heart with an AED device.

We can provide a 2-hour defibrillator course at your premises or organise a training session at a venue convenient for you and your team. Either way, the participants will leave the training event feeling much more confident in their ability to provide effective cardiac arrest treatment.

This training is intended for groups of up to 8 participants with completely no First Aid or Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training experience.

This hands-on AED training course is founded on the guidelines of The Resuscitation Council (UK). It provides comprehensive and enjoyable instruction on the use of AEDs as well as basic life-saving skills and CPR.
